  • Re: acoustic problems in modern architecture

Dave Moulton: This thread raises a really important issue. Architects and interior designers seem to be generally oblivious to acoustical issues, to a point where there is a college level acoustics textbook entitled "Deaf Architects & Blind Acousticians," by Robert Apfel. Barry Blesser, inventor of the digital reverb, has written a book

  • Re: Beolink 5000 - Beosound 3000

The Beosystem 2500 you use probably had two way communication. the BS3000 doesn't have this feature. You can use a Beolink 5000 with the BS3000 if you set it to one way communication. Unfortunately, I don't remember how you do this right now.

  • Re: A tale of two TV´s

moxxey: I can categorically say it's not the same TV. My brother owns a Samsung 32" 2007 model and it's terrible. Watching F1 on a sunny day, the TV struggles to handle the shine from the track/car and it looks more like it's pouring with rain. When watching football, there was obvious blur around the ball, when it was kicked around

  • Re: acoustic problems in modern architecture

Henry: Actually, the B&O in the catalogues must sound rubbish, they're never plugged into the mains! Never thought about that. You'll have no sound at all....

Jammer...

  • Re: acoustic problems in modern architecture

Thanks soundproof for the elaborate feedback. Thank god I'm not deaf. Actually my house is over 500 years old, but similar to modern architecture in the sense that only hard materials are used. My room performed well in the hand clap test. It's true that a lot of rooms with hard surfaces have awful acoustics. I have been in a house where reproduction

  • Re: acoustic problems in modern architecture

In my livingroom I only have hard surfaces. Wooden floors (no rugs), walls covered with plaster, no curtains and a minimum of furniture. Yet, I experience no acoustic problem at all. Am I just lucky in that respect?
