philipsmz333: I struggle to be able to hear the difference between 128bit AAC versus something such as apple lossless. Obviously cd's are ALOT better for listening... aren't they? Somebody please prove this! Huge difference between 128kbps AAC and Apple Lossless/CD. I've tested this, repeatedly, to my own and others' satisfaction. Here's

It's a mystery, Kevin. It's a mystery ... But there are quite a few who buy Michelin standard kitchens and then spend most of their time working the microwave and toaster - could be an expression of the same impulse. I listen to MP3 music at a variety of bitrates while in my car or when using my iPod. At home I listen to either lossless or uncompressed

Kevin: It's worth remembering that their final point of reference is their listening panels I'm sure they've tried a high end cd player. Btw re cables we were told they did a blind listening test with local audiophiles. Only one was able to tell the difference between high end cables and standard B&O ones and when asked which he prefered

Razlaw: A little off topic, but any opinions on replacing a Velodyne HGS 12 sub woofer with a Beolab 2? My wife loves the Velodyne and does not want to give it up, is afraid Beolab 2 wont have enough bass. Have a look at the Velodyne DD-12, which replaced your existing HGS-12. Extremely effective servo driver control mechanism, and a very sophisticated

Justin: Mr10Percent: I will add, that if B&O put out an audiophile class CD in the BC2 shell, I will be THE number one customer to get this machine. 10% Not if I get there first! And all the Lab5 owners. I really don't understand why B&O haven't brought an audiophile class player already, given they are up there with the speakers. Why

You will need to purge the music system if you've run that through it. I think it actually freezes up the drivers of your speakers. But then you should hear what thousands of unsuspecting German B&O customers were subjected to not that long ago ... it's probably very hard to pick something that satisfies "everybody". But I think

The speakers are getting a nice, featured position ... They've actually been showing up on the covers of a variety of gearmag's - and generally to favourable reviews within. Adam Smith reviews the BL9s in HiFi World.

Kevin: The 9's were used for our blind listening tests and sounded fantastic! Oh how I wish Did you listen in the listening room, in the audio department? Weren't you amazed to find that the big soundstage you'd heard through the curtain came from two low and quite closely placed BL9s? It's an excellent demo of the spatial quality of

koning: @soundproof what's the reason for tweaking the signal? Depending upon the kind of music (or movie) you might want to enhance or reduce bass, midrange, top. I like to have the opportunity to make these adjustments, though I usually find myself smack in the center with settings.

Rombeek: Are then any pictures availble yet? And if so, where?! Greetz, Marcel http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=1239
