In my experience you really need to drive a 5500 hard to ever get the fan to turn on.

The RCA's on a 9000 are outputs from the pre-amp so that's why you hear nothing. You need to buy 3.5mm jack to din cable or RCA to din adapter and plug into the AUX socket on the 9000

cozza: The doors on a Beocenter 9500 are easy to take apart... and rather difficult to reassemble! Agreed!!!

With a Beolink 1000, press GOTO then up arrow to start the scan. When the required channel is tuned press STORE, channel number, STORE

Unless I have misread the circuit diagram, this output is NOT volume controlled. Perhaps Keith will check.

Try one of the other sources. Tape if you have it or radio. Do they work OK?

Agree with Lee. It's a minefield, even for us that deal in the stuff every day.

Nobby is quite correct Peter. Most people who bought 6500 and 7000 systems bought the CD player with the system and they are still working well so no need to replace. Many 5500 systems were sold with CD50's which are now giving trouble. The CD5500 is the logical replacement both electrically and aesthetically so their S/H value is being maintained
