  • Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?

Henry: Just to make Alex cry! Girls Aloud, don't ask me the name of the song though, no idea! Actually I quite like girls aloud Right now, Left Side Drive by Boards of Canada. In a really really chilled out mood

No, but I don't think B&O is designed to be oozing out your house around the seams

Listen to both BeoLab 5s and BeoLab 9s. If you prefer the 5s, then don't get the rears just yet, and put the money towards BeoLab 5s. It's better buy the right thing in the first place than have to trade it in later.

  • Re: Beolab 4 PC

This is where I pipe in! I could sing B&W's praises for pages and pages, they really are stunningly good speakers (I own quite a few pairs myself). They aren't active though, and hence a setup can get quite messy if you just want something simple. A good company also making active speakers is Mission (who have done several active models), and most studio

I consider the BeoLab 5s superior to the BeoLab 9s, they are much more 'open' sounding and effortless in comparison. Generally a better sound all round. However, they are more revealing, they tend to bring absolutely tiny details in the recordings right to the front of the soundstage, and you might not always want that. For example, one example I always

The BeoLab 9s are a little more forgiving than the 3s (which can be a bit harsh with poorly recorded content). That doesn't mean to say, the BeoLab 9s flatten any detail out of the sound, but they are very comfortable to listen to. I'd recommend you have a listen to the BeoLab 9s at some point. They are remarkable speakers, some would say preferable

Agreed! The BeoLab 4s are actually incredibly overpriced considering the sound they produce! You can get something costing £140 which sound considerably better! BeoLab 4000s are hugely better speakers though, and you can't go wrong with a second hand pair! May take a while to save up for, but it's WELL worth it Believe me .

&ot SiliconTi: Hey All, Thanks for the input. I am looking at the BL4's for the rears as 1) they are small an unobtrusive 2) surrounds do not need to do any heavy lifting 3) there are inexpensive. I may consider BL9s for the front vs the BL-3's+BL-2. In this setting, appearance will be very important. I am looking at the BS3200 (actually, the

Henry: Hope you enjoy Gold mecca, you could be a very happy man on Tuesday night if you're lucky! Me too of course Oh and I'm sure the user manuals available to you as a Gold Member will help you during your B&O project. You want MORE B&O?!?

  • Re: Advice wanted please - Beosystem 4500 v Beosystem 6500 (sorry for long post)

I agree! Ignore us and go with your instinct! The 4500 is for you by the sounds of things. And to think I met someone who threw their entire 4500 (perfect condition) in the skip because they thought it was worthless. Heartbreaking!
