deaddruid: Oh dear! I thought there were only four versions. The reason I started trying to work out what I had was because I wanted to start collecting light controllers. However, the LC1 manual refers to Beolink 1000 Mk1 and Mk2, yet does not mention the LIGHT button - it uses SHIFT,LINK combinations. The LC2 manual says you need a Beolink 1000 "latest

PD: I'm confused, too! After scrutinising those pictures until my eyes have gone funny, i can't see a difference betwixt 2,3 & 4. Is this a magic eye test, or am I just being a bit blonde? The problem is that some different versions have the same layout on the back - the picture that Kieth posted is true but can only be used as a rough guide

MK1 & 2 versions don't have the light button and have identical functions & operations. The difference between them is only the operation of the buttons on the PCB. The MK1 has square foil domes which press onto the PCB whereas the MK 2 has a contact sheet made of electrolytic dots doing pretty much the same thing. These don't have the

As I mentioned earlier Frank - I have used these. The technique is exactly the same for all foam surrounds except you have far less tolerance when centering the coils (due to the small size which gives less "play" on the surrounds) and may require shimming in some cases. The smaller the driver = the more accuracy & patience required. Chris

Yes, I've used these exact ones and they are an excellent fit. The fit of the foams is of course important, but the correct fitting method is even more so. There is an excellent ongoing thread in the workbench section which, up to present, is showing exactly the correct way of doing this. Chris.

Judy: First of all, as I don't want surplus glue all over the place and end up with a Mobe job , If your reading this Mobe - you realise you have now found eternal infamy on here don't you?

It looks OK I suppose but I find it very difficult to get excited about mobile phones. Big keys and an ability to be used to hammer nails into concrete are all I want from my mobile. I may change my mind when I win one at the end of August though Chris.

I'm sure they sound very very good. They do look as if they've lterally just fallen off the back of a lorry though Not to my tastes, but I can see other people loving them. Having said that I'm sure they look totally different in the flesh as photo's don't normally do a product justice - remember the initial reactions to BL9's

PD: I've got mine hooked up to my BM6500 & they run fantastically. Hmmm, anyone know where I can get a new band for one? It's snapped & sort of flapping in the breeze created by the cones moving an immense amount from gorgeously loud & clear sound. Originals not available any more. This ebay seller does replacements but I've

For anyone with concave "domes" (which Andy used a vaccume cleaner to pull out) - I wouldn't worry too much about this if you're a bit dubious about tackling them. They are really there to stop any dust getting into the drive coils and wearing them out. They don't actually affect the performance of the speaker by being dented.
