It sounds like you haven't sat in an S8 yet. ;) I think alot of the critisicm of the sound quality from mp3 files is affected by other factors such as the source the mp3 files are going through before the sound reaches the speakers, an element of psychological misconceptions and assumptions. I noticed today that there are five grooves on the back of the Beolab 5. I then went on the internet to look at the other Bang & Olufsen speakers and i noticed that the Beolab 9's have a similar correlation, there are nine grooves! I suppose this reinforces the attention to detail the designers pay to these awesome products. I'm in love

The Beolab 2 from my experience is not as musical, and to be honest i would describe this sub as underwhelming. However when this sub is used when watching movies, it all changes - BANG. Depends on whether or not your happy with the sound you have at the moment. In my opinion the Beolab 2 is more of an aesthetic piece, when listening to music.

Judging by your other post, you would be best off by replacing the beolab 1 with a set of beolab 9. If you prefer the sound of the 4000 to the 1's then i think it is obvious. The beolab 9's are very detailed and dense which would also make a great addition to watching movies and television.

Oh ok thats handy, thankyou, yes the value (all in one factor) is what has attracted me to it, hopefully i will be able to find one in Australia with minimum hassles...
