  • Re: Recent Purchases

philipsmz333: Very excited about my new BeoLab 5's that i picked up a couple of days ago. You must be a very strong man! Congratulations!!! BTW - you'll have fun sampling high and low resolution music through those!

  • Re: Help on an AV Setup

Hi Todd, I understand you already have the BL6000s and want to keep using those. If you're not into "movies have to go boom in the night" you may be satisfied with the BL6000s as fronts. Given the size of your room, the BL4s would very likely be too small. You want them high up, and a distance back from the primary listening position,

He-he. The conductor Daniel Harding was ecstatic when he tried out the Advanced Sound System in an S8. He claimed that he would spend all his free time in the car, if he owned such a system - and that it was better than what he had at home.

jmp: soundproof: I'll answer in English as my written French is beyond criticism! Excellent thread over on quetedugraal!!! The people there are truly involved and willing to dedicate themselves to discovering the ins and out of B&O. Enjoyed going through it very much. Not surprised by the positive reaction to BL3. The BL4000s should have been

  • Re: Beolab 3 questions

Good luck. My cables are Mk2 - don't know whether it would make much of a difference at the signal strengths at play here, though. Let me know whether you hear a difference. BTW - my experience with the BeoLab 3s from iTunes: these speakers are harsh on music at low bitrate compression. Seriously - they come alive when you feed them lossless or

Think you have to buy the rubber bases. The Mk2 cables are quite thin, also, so I'm not sure whether you've gotten Mk1 or 2. You'll find out tomorrow. I have a similar setup, and am very satisfied. L & R you sort out by moving the RCAs in the minijack connector. Use music you know the soundstage of, or fiddle with the balance in your

Ah. Wish you were here right now. I put Pandora on, sent it to the speakers, and one of my favourite tracks of Tord Gustavsen Trio came up. Listened to it for a while, then I switched to the Lossless I have on my computer. Laughably big difference between the two. Pandora is OK for background listening I guess, when you're moving about - but all

philipsmz333: Well said, and i used A8 Earphones to test... that in my opinion was the best way to test this. I would say, essentially what really matters is that we are satisfied, however we may listen to our music. Agreed on the satisfaction point. Don't know whether I'm with you on the A8s as the best way to test this, though. They're

  • Re: Which do you think is winning us over?

It is a mystery. I have, however, tried it in various settings, in proper listening rooms and with a variety of listeners (also from one CD - though I have wanted to emulate how people actually listen, which is often from computers/iPods). Simply because I wanted to be "certain" before I began making extravagant claims. The quality of and
