No, as in this case, the centre channel isn't acting as a 'centre channel', but just as a stereo pair of speakers. Bear in mind that really, the 7-1 and 7-2 are more suited to act as a standalone speaker, unlike the 7-4 which is ONLY for centre-channel audio, and doesn't reproduce the full frequency range.

Or just use iTunes' built in one! Go into preferences, and under the 'advanced' tab area, set it to MP3, with the quality you want. Then select all the songs in your library which are MP4, and right click > convert to MP3. You can search for all the MP4 songs by right clicking on the column headers in the library view and ticking 'Kind' and sorting

I wouldn't go down the OS X on a PC router, it breaks every time there's an update (which is quite often), and you don't get to take advantage of things like Quartz Extreme and CoreVideo which are built into OS X. Get a MacMini, it'll be far more than enough to do what you want, and they're very cheap. You can buy very big-storage external hard drives

Yes, this is the case sadly. B&O decided people don't listen to audio in stereo digitally any more, and you would only ever need digital stereo audio from the built in DVD player. Very strange decision IMO, but there you go. In the meantime, you could always just run analogue audio from the actual HD DTV box straight into the BeoVision 7's audio inputs

I think I disagree with joynsyde, sorry! Yes, they aren't that powerful, which I can live with. I tend to prefer a slightly bass light sound to be honest, but BeoLab 4s don't even have particularly great mids and highs. Sure it's comfortable, but it's not exactly all that 'detailed' (very masking in fact), and they just don't sound at all like £500
