Piaf: The 4000 being a diamond tip as opposed to the sapphire tip on the 20CL series would indicate that it would be longer lasting. (This from an old jeweler.) Jeff This is incorrect Jeff. All of the cartridges mentioned have diamond tips (styli) including the 20CL - it is the cantilever which is made from a single sapphire crystal on this model (quite

Hi Peter, when you have found the station you want to save you need to then enter a preset number to store it on then press store twice. I think that's right - been a while since I've done this. I'll double check for you if this doesn't work. There are only three ways to cancel the loudness function and the beo4 cannot do it. 1. Use

Excellent thread and an excellent job - very well done Andy. I know exactly how you feel though. The 1st speakers I ever refoamed were S55's and I too was totally gobsmacked that my efforts were equally successful. It has inspired me to carry on refurbishing other speakers in the B&O range with the knowledge that anything is possible with a

It could be the cartridge - do you have another one, or can you borrow a known good one to test on your deck? The pins sometimes lose internal contact with the coils in the cartridge body. Unfortunately there isn't a lot you can do if this is the case. Chris.

Britops: Medogsfat: That Leeds store is now, not surprisingly, closed A new Leeds City Centre store will be opening very soon. So I'm told, apparently it is gonna be a biggie. I'll be one of the 1st through the door when it does and give my impressions on here of course Chris.

Alex: Generally though, you would want to go for the Beo4 over the 1000. The 1000 is still a fantastic remote, and IMO, better than anything from any other manufacturer, while the Beo4 is more suited to more recent B&O kit, particularly with the LIST menu. Absolutely right Alex - the Beo4 is certainly more suited to later B&O products whereas

If only all stores were like this - not just B&O. I remember my 1st foray into Bang & Olufsen in 1989 when I walked into the (then) Leeds store in the City centre wearing my British Rail uniform and was totallly ignored by the staff. I had to drag one of the sales staff away from his obviously more important business into demoing a Beocenter

Hi Kelly Joe and welcome to Beoworld There was another thread about this some time ago but I cannot find it - I'm fairly sure the outcome was a replaced tuner though. Our resident expert on these machines is member & technical advisor joeyboygolf (Graham) who I'm sure will be along shortly to offer some sound advice. (no pun intended ) Chris

deaddruid: OK, guys, let's see if I understand. My interpretation of the responses so far is: A. There are only two keyboard layouts of the Beolink 1000. The first is found on Mk 1 & Mk 2, which do not have a LIGHT key, and the second on Mk 3+, which does have a LIGHT key (Medogsfat) B. The secret codes on Mk 1 and Mk 2 differ (LC1 manual, pages

Yes it is a straight fit. Chris.
