Apparently a couple of European distributors of Dinalight still have stocks of Dinalights and are willing to ship to the UK at modest cost. The most active distributor with apparent stock is Artix Technologies in Cyprus and you can review them HERE

Whilst I tend to agree with your general points about the white Beovision 8, its likely to go down the same route as the white Beosystem 6500, where everyone was very practical and did not purchase them for similar reasons to those you raised and so B&O stopped manufacturing them and they became rare, and subsequently a must have item for collectors

You can also purchase Beo4 reducers which fit on the end of the Beo4. You will see them in most B&O dealers Beo4's

The Dinalight is no longer in production and I sold teh last two I had some 6 months ago to a Beoworld member

I had a quick look at the philips web site related to this box and I think you will find that what they have done is provide all the codes for different manufacturers in terms of command codes which will work for 98% of remotes which use the same IR frequency range (38 to 56 Khz, but B&O uses a much higher frequency (455 Khz) which requires a different

When it is this mode it will send the "Link" command in front of every command with teh exception of pressing the "TEXT" button. To put the Beo4 in Link mode follow these steps:- Press

Whilst I have never used a BT Vision Box, I would be very surprised that the BT (Philips) remote would be able to control any functions of your Beovision because of the frequency used by B&O are unique to B&O. To use the Beo4 to control your BT Vision STB could be achieved if the STB controller had your box been in its list, but it does not

You are correct, you have always been able to eject a DVD even on the AVANT by pressing DVD and holding down the STOP button on the Beo4. To close the DVD tray you press DVD again. But before someone asks, you cannot open the Beosound 9000 by pressing the STOP button, it will just pause.
-
Well, I am assuming you have the details of where it fits, and the tools needed to fit it ? What version of AVANT ( 4 digit Type number) do you have ?
