You can plug your new deck into the AUX socket and it will work no problem. Not sure about Datalink, though I suspect not if it is like the BS9000. I have a BG3500 for sale if the deal for the 6500 does not work out. Peter has a BC2 and can no doubt confirm re datalink.

jandyt: joeyboygolf: Most difficult bit is getting the case apart!!! Four strips of a cut up defunct credit card works for me. Andy T. Good Idea!!

No need to press AV. Just SOUND 1 STORE should make the STANDBY light blink in acknowledgement. If no response try unplugging from mains for a couple of minutes then plug in again. Corny I know but cures a multitude of sins! If no luck then problem could be with emitter reciever system and calls for technician assistance.

Not difficult at all. Just screws and a few leads to plug in. Most difficult bit is getting the case apart!!! Keith can give instruction on this as he did for me. Worked a treat.

The 9300 is easier only because most parts are still available from B&O whereas some 9500 parts are not (the CD for instance). Having said that, it is not really an issue since both are exceptionally reliable. I do like the one without the white trim. Looks less dated in my view.

The plug is indeed a simple straight though connector. Unplug it and the circuit is interupted prior to the pre-amp. The wiring to the plug is shown on page 2-16 of the service manual on site.
