New high voltage capacitors has now been mounted. Being too large to build into the original can, I decided to leave the can in situ and instead fasten the two new caps using cable ties. Note that there are two dial pointers. One for AM and one for FM. Only the selected waveband pointer will move. The chassis will come out of the back. Remove screws at the bottom and, depending on version, the four rotating knobs on the front. About 10cm out, you will have to undo the plug for the speaker since it will stay in the cabinet. The vertical part of the chassis, that holds the filter capacitor and fuses will "twang" a couple of degrees to both sides.
