Mark, Generally speaking a US style modem cable RJ11 to RJ11 only has two of the 4 connections made. You will need a cable with all 4 connections. The pins are connected one for one without crossover. However if you are in the UK it will be an RJ11 to BT style connector which are standard.

Your Busch - Jaeger Control Panel is like the Lutron unit as far as remote control is concerned and I have set these up without problems. See below a picture of the setup and associated commands:-

The fact that the workshop could not duplicate the problem is not significant in my view. In my experience its very common for a reported fault not to show up in the dealers workshop and there can be many reasons for this, but top of the list is temperature. I am sorry, but there is no easy way to fault find the problem without getting inside and doing

The problem is likely to be a cable become unplugged, see picture below. If you are willing to take the front cover off yourself you could see if one of the cables is not correctly in its socket.

OK, then this is either a power supply issue or a problem with the degaussing circuit and both are linked. If the degauss circuit were to stay activated after switch on for more than a few seconds then you would get this type of symptom. The degaussing is regulated by a special type of thermister which changes resistance as current flows through it

Given, that the Beolab 3500 is connected via Masterlink and it only happens with DAB means very unlikely that the problem is associated with the Beolab 3500 or its connection to masterlink. Rather it points to an issue in the Beocentre 6. Did you purchase the Beocentre 6 with the DAB or was it subsequently fitted by your dealer ? When you switch on
