In situations such as this, I usually attack them with a plethora of RCA adapters and 1/8" conversions from radioshack. Usually works out pretty well.

However, the green buttons that control the radio tuning next to the display still do not work, this is very troubling as they work without flaw when the glass is not in the way.

Well that is very different from what I saw in my dealer. There were the same two components which were for sale for USD-5000.
