I have (extensively) heard 4xBL5; 2xBL5 + 2xBL3; 2xBL5 + 2xBL6000; and 2xBL5 + 2xBL3 side + 2xBL3 rears. Under no circumstance would I recommend using a BL2 together with BL5s. I agree with Peter here. Have been looking for a "mint" Beogram CD 5500. I have a 6500 and a 7000, and am very happy with them, but would love to have a 5500 transport in excellent condition. BS9000 is interesting because it makes it possible to listen to different performances of the same music. (The architect Liebeskind uses it in this manner

The original BL9 concept wasn't intended for retail - was supposed to be a studio monitor grade speaker, built to withstand being shifted about in a studio. while delivering acoustic lens definition of the sound. That accounts for the original shape - then it clearly grew on someone!

I can see the need, though at that price there are quite a few high-quality non-B&O offerings. These don't have that unique styling, though -- and CD-only will very likely mean that that the player accesses the discs faster. Anyone know whether it plays SACD?

The Serene is a strange product, which falls between chairs. The shape is often associated with that of a woman's compact.
