Well, what will poverty buy you, then? Not sure I agree with pedrompinto here. I get really happy when I listen to my favourite music through my B&O, even when a particular piece brings a tear to my eye. Which means that a material acquisition gives me a buzz of the happies. Of course, there are many ways of experiencing happiness - when I perform

One person flat out said he'd wasted years listening to music in other ways. An update on my experiments with BeoLab 3 as headphones. Some of you will remember my "inspiration" with using BL3s as headphones. Placed on floor stands, to either side of my listening position, about 1.2m from the ear, and pointing straight towards my head.

XXX XXX, internationally known for their corporate design, sold very similar looking corporate graphics to a Scandinavian and a Thai oil company. Imagine the surprise of the Scandinavian management when they arrived in Thailand for a conference and saw numerous gas stations that looked uncomfortably similar to their own - and imagine their fury when

philipsmz333: I absolutely adore the design of this television. In my opinion, nothing compares. Bang & Olufsen decided to replace it rather than keep it in the range. They keep speakers in the range for decades. I want to know their rationale for axing this product, because in my opinion it is one of the only televisions that they have designed

If you wish to upgrade your musical experience, you should definitely get the BeoLab 4000s and not the BeoLab 4s. The 4s are good monitor speakers, but quite expensive compared to their sound quality. The 4000s are excellent full-range speakers, and you'll enjoy owning a pairr.

pedrompinto: soundproof, i intend to use the stand floor and aim the bl3s to the listening area, i say, when seate i'll have a horizontal "line" from my hear towards the bl3s. i think thats how it should be right ? That will work if the back of your furniture isn't so high, or dense, that it covers your ears. With floor stands, I would

pedrompinto: Graeme: I would go 5s front 9s rear even if you can afford 2 sets of 5s in MHO I dont think you need the quality of 5s for rears, 9's would make fantastic rears in this top end set up you plan. Regarding the the 5's being away from the wall, I have listened to 5's in three dealers set ups and none of them were 3 mtrs from the

Ah, the advantages of a Gold membership!

saf: Half-jokingly: it doesn't really matter if one starts with BL9 instead of the 5's because one day soon you will probably end up having both... You're right, and even if not in the same system, I think listeners will appreciate the sound of the acoustic lenses to the point that this is what you'd like to have throughout your quality
-
saf: soundproof: In my own home theatre I plan to use BL6000s as side and rear speakers, mounted up on the wall and lying horizontally, with the "bottom" of the speakers pointing into the rear corners... I think you should (or perhaps shouldn't) consult D. Lewis on this one... Hi Saf, Given my knowledge of film-sound I find it unnecessary
