I would use a pair of 4000s. I think 4s are simply not good enough.

There is a problem here - the 4002 in most cases does not have a RIAA and neither does the Ouverture - you need an external one!

Unlikely as they gave problems and some even corroded! I do like the AV9000, I have one myself, but it is really an MX6000 with a mono speaker!

This is the repair tip! Intermittent failures Problem: Intermittent failures Cause: Disconnection of through-platings Solution: Resolder all the marked through-platings when sets are received for service. Possibly run a wire through the plating.

The common fault with the CDX is cracked solder joints - there are a number of weak joins actually between boards - this causes symptoms just as you describe - the 2 is actually a ? with the dot missing! Nice collection - the weakness is going to be your choice of speakers - not a lot of bass. I used S75s with my 2400 and the sound was excellent. Also consider S45-2s - both of these speakers should be cheap! To advance the system in the future, consider a Beogram 4004 if your receiver is a 2400-2 as this will be controlled by the remote and also think
