I would check the set-up menu to see whether you can control the line-out level. The spec's say "sound monitor out" from the unit and you may be able to set that to variable instead of fixed. There's also an optical out - if you have a stereo that takes optical signals, then you can connect your speakers to that and control the volume

gridinoc: Amazing… It reminds me of this modification: http://www.bootleg-objects.com/objects_sound.htm#rebo Yes, the difference being that the Mac/Beocenter 4600 one actually works!

My surround processor automatically detects when a TV-transmission is in 5.1 or stereo and switches accordingly. So I can't say I'm in a fixed mode. It's kind of strange when I channel surf though, as the sound perspective will shift from channel to channel! Jazz or classical is often transmitted in surround today, I always switch those

marcus_m: 9 LEE: Personally, i'm really excited about the all white Beosystem 7000 in the June draw. Me too!! Marcus One of the girls at the office managed to buy one posted for sale on the net, in full working order. DTS playback makes sense if your processor and speakers are top-notch and your home theatre is well planned. If speakers and set-up are sub-par, then you won't be able to discern much of a difference between the very adequate Dolby Digital, and the potentially superior DTS format. As we're waiting for the HD format war to play out we can look

Peter: Now that is one that anyone to Struer would know! A vintage product designed after a chair! Very expensive! Extremely. One went at auction for more than 300.000 Euros. And the one in the museum in Struer is a replica.

tom: Soundproof, it is always very interesting to read your posts, and I have learned a lot from most of them. I am sure what you describe in this post is a great experience, but I am also quite sure, that this is no good at all for your ears. I suffer from a tinitus for 7 years now, and I can only tell everybody in here to take care of their ears!
