jonnyb: Incidentally, MPEG2 was only used on the very earliest Blu Ray discs in 2006. They've used AVC (MPEG4) for ages now Many are still MPEG-2. It depends on the publisher. See: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=3338

jonnyb: Your assertion that TV broadcasts are better than Blu-ray can't be right simply for the fact that Sky and BBC HD broadcasts are 1080i while BluRays are 1080p. Sort the 24fps issue out and I think you'll find Blu-Ray is currently the best way to view HD films Maybe, but I can see myself which is better and has less pixelisation! 24fps

jonnyb: The judder you are seeing isn't a fault with the Blu-ray discs Are you sure? It's only on Ocean's 13 and the SD version does exactly the same thing! I gave the SD DVD to a friend and he remarked that his DVD player and TV showed the same juddery camera panning. To me, that implies it was the compression used in the movie encoding

Bingo: I understand but If being to expensive is a cause for the bad turnover, do they have any choice then? If 11000 euro for a Beovision 7-40 is too much to be atractive, it will keep being unatractive if the price stays the same. Yeah, but what is the level between higher volumes against improved turnover. An example: say you reduce the BV7-40 from

beocool: I like the BC 6 very much. I am surpised to see the smallest BC 6 is dropped. Personally, I would like a BC 6 with a 32'' panel, but I was told that this is not gonna happen... Good point, forgot about that! I'd prefer a BC6-32 than I would a BV7-32. The design of a BC6 is classic and well respected. 26" is a bit of a 'nothing'

Munin: ... and Blue Ray is the winner I have a PS3 and have bought (or sourced) Blu-ray versions of my favourite action movies. Although they are generally better than upscaled SD DVDs, there's no way I would go out and spend over £15 on a Blu-ray, when the SD equivalent could be bought for £3 (300, The Departed etc etc). Many Blu-ray

Bingo: Does that mean when there comes a bigger one that the smaller sizes will become cheaper? In my opinion they must :-) I think this is a tricky dilemma for B&O. I agree the TV prices are too expensive, but are they going to do an Apple and announce the BV7-40 MKIII in October, then reduce it by £2K, only 6 months later? Bit like Apple

Jez: I think the new BV4 50" is likely to be offered on BV7 stand with BL10, like an AV9000 look, nice! Also got news that BeoSound 5 is also to be offered as BeoMaster 5 and that BeoMedia 1 will be discontinued. BeoSystem 3 will finally get full HD tuners built in to match 1080 screens.. What do you mean by full HD tuners? My BS3 displays 1080p

jvezina: The SD problem with the BV7-40 has nothing to do with the TV itself, but rather with the overcompression of the signal.. Correct, I know. MKIII shows it 'as is'. So, if there is bad compression, you see that more clearly on the MKIII 1080p based BV7-40. Scale this up to a 52" screen and, unless you plan on watching HD sourced content

Another thing I remembered. Didn't someone put a quote on this board stating that B&O claim that it's too difficult to make an 'excellent LCD-based television', after the recent financial report? Which was their internal reasoning for the downturn in UK sales? If that was the case, why would they decide to produce a 52" LCD
