Very sorry to hear about your bad experience with your Beocom 4, I think you have just been unlucky. Had my Beocom 4 for 2 years now and it was purchased used from Lifestyle AV. It works perfectly every time and I have never had any of the issues you mention. If I were you I would ask your dealer to exchange it for a new one. Craig

What about a Powerlink one. Pretty sure I have seen these on Ebay from time to time. Although it has 8 pins, the 7 you require are in the same places. Craig

RussR: The first thing to try when members of this family 'lock up' is to carefully inspect the buttons on the front face. It is possible for a button to get 'hung up' in a slightly depressed position, and this will cause the device to get confused. look carefully from the side, or top, and check that all buttons are the same height
