Thanks Steve, I'll check it out. Eyesight's going, obviously. Cleve

Having finally bought a BC 9500 - the last in my original list of 'must haves' - I was a little surpised to find there is no built-in clamp at the rear to allow fixing a telescopic 'rabbit's ears' aerial. Most of the other Beomasters and Beocenters I have owned/own have some means of attaching one. I would normally hook the 9500

Jeff, One other thing I forgot to mention. The Quad Preamp/Control units, particularly the 44, have really flexible filter controls - far more sophisticated than the Beomaster 4400, for example. In the real world, rather than the world occupied by the very minimalist school where any sort of control other than a gain knob is viewed with scepticism,

Hi Jeff, The 33/303/FM3 combo was rated highly in its day. I used to have the next generation Quad set up, a 34/405/FM4 which was excellent. I think Frede rates the 405 power amplifier very highly in particular. Vintage Quad gear reflects one man's vision - Peter Walker's - who designed and developed all the early Quad kit, particularly the

I have been talking to Tim about trying to restore a Beocord 5000 - I have two of the things (and a BC 4000). He sent me the link as above. He also, rather cruelly, suggested " Two Beocord 5000s, that's one too many, just like having one of them... ", I still think they're beautiful, but I'm beginning to resign myself to looking
Hi Cleve! I'm very interested for your Beomaster 2400 but maybe it's too late now and you have already given it! Otherwise I would be very happy to have this wonderful receiver! Best regards, Alkis
Alkis, I'm sorry but I have already agreed for john to have it. Cleve
thanks for the comments! and yes, i'm a fan of scandinavian design and b&o as it's made in denmark suits very well for my needs. beovision 6 alone in the room is one beautiful tv and it's seen more as a part of furniture and not against it.
Any Jacobsen furniture or other pieces like Vola taps
Yes - that is a forlorn hope! I have had three of these and even the one that Tim actually machined some parts for turned on me and shredded a good tape! Very nice when they work, but...
I know Peter, but they look so beautiful in conjunction with a BG 400X and a BM 4400 and they are B&O through and through
-
also, i've been away from here for awhile and would love to share a shot from my living room from year and a half ago. unfortunately things have changed a little and beosound is on the opposite wall but it's a change for good, imo. anyway, comments are welcome!
Well, you're obviously an appreciator

My relatively recent contraction of the ‘Beovirus” resulted in my buying, almost indiscriminately, so much vintage B&O that war broke out at home. Part of the negotiations that brought hostilities to a close was an agreement that any further purchases would require the loss of an existing piece on a ‘one in, one out’ basis
