B&O have posted an announcement that they've tested a 12 meter, unpowered, USB extension cable. No other notes, and no supplier mentioned. I know that this won't satisfy the 'Wireless!' crowd here, but it will make more options available for some. Thought you'd like to know. Russ

Good catch Peter! My mistake, and I don't know why I keep thinking that the PL sockets appeared on the 5500 as opposed to the 6500. Given that, I don't think you can use the MCL2-A/ML-MCL converter with the 5500. No. Don't be fooled by the pre-amp outputs either, the B&O amp doesn't switch on by itself, it is looking for a trigger

Welcome to BeoWorld! The answer is "Yes; but why?" In order to use the amplifier you will need a fully wired 8-pin DIN cable, PowerLink in B&O parlance, running from one of the PL sockets on the 5500 to the amp. The thing is that the 5500 has a perfectly serviceable amplifier built in to it, with 2 pairs of speaker-level outputs (SpeakerLink

In the US, for a limited time only, the BV-7 w/o DVD is $5,800.00USD We do not yet know the 'real' price. Russ
I'll investigate further and report back. FWIW, my local B&O store weren't too keen on the idea of me shipping it to the USA - they say they get more broken TVs following marine shipping accidents than anything else... As someone going through stressful times (and not for the first time), and struggling with attitude and performance, let me be the first to say "Apology accepted." Not that I really noticed anything especially negative in your tone...but then, I'm American! I promise to not drink one in your honor. Russ
I am pretty sure like most of you that Blu-ray will be a niche market, but so is B&O, and in the eye of many potential buyers (not necessaraly represented here) it would feel that something is missing in the product range if B&O did not have a Blu-ray player. p.
Phil, I know that being on the left

One quick note here, driven by my regard for the beautiful user interface on the BS-5. Please note that the volume control on the BS-5 does not work in this set-up. Volume, and all of the tone controls, must be adjusted via the Beo4 remote control, or the button on the active kit's IR sensor. Oh, and did we mention that you must have a Beo4 or Beo5
-
All correct, save one detail from Chris, so I'll clear that up. Firstly you must always use a fully wired PowerLink cable to the BeoLab 5's (should be supplied with them), and when set up properly (option 0 I think; but I haven't had my morning coffee yet), they will take all of their cues from the BeoVision 9, power, volume, input source

I don't know that I'd say you were expecting too much (except, perhaps for the Xanadu thing), just that there may be a misunderstanding as to what is going on in your set-up. BeoSound 9000 and BS-5/BM-5 are considered audio masters, and so at worst expect to be 'peers' on your network. The BS-5 does not accept its role here as a mere
