Hi Nick I've only had my Beocom 2 for a couple of weeks, and as it works fine I've not taken it apart, though I hear they are not the easiest things to work on... If you decide to take it apart, then I'd be very interested to know what is inside. I'm guessing it is a membrane keyboard, rather than switches, but if you can get it apart

Absolutely excellent! 2 7700's, both with no FFWD, but everything else ok. Lots of head scratching until I found this! Many thanks

Hi Nick Some debris under the button? Give it a blast with some compressed air (or blow into it yourself). It costs nothing and is worth a try, as is a tap on something (but be very careful not to damage the finish!). Failing something simple like that it is a dealer replacement I'm afraid - unless I've been incorrectly informed they are deemed

Welcome to BeoWorld! I heartily agree with everyone else - these vintage equipment restorations are absolutely fascinating. When it happens though, the weekend plan is to drive to France for some cases of Coors beer (*very* loosely

I've somehow missed this thread until now, but after salivating over the 928s and the Spyder, thinking of the GT6 I almost px'd my Herald for, and feeling the loss of John's MGBGT, I thought I'd share a pic of my current wheels: She's going back to her correct silver, and having a few sillies fixed, but other than that....love her

Definitely capacitor replacement time. Electrolytics age badly - those are looking rather sad indeed, and are likely to be way off-spec electrically. Change them now and relax for the next 20 years. Leave them in and the deck is likely to start doing all kinds of odd things...plus there's the risk of damage to other components - definitely best
