Thanks for the replies. Indeed the ability to 'toggle' between sources is something BL1000 has in favour of beo4 - and it is in the right place, very near the mute button.

What is the equivalent Beo4 command to AV on the BL1000? I have a BC9500 and LX5500 in the same room which are not linked. I change from audio to video all the time for volume and muting purposes. I find selecting AV on the Beo4 list does not switch sources. It assumes the two are linked so, for e.g puts the 9500 into Aux when pressing TV>AV

Yes, I noticed that, yet the 8000 is much preferred. Cabinet volume makes the difference? Has there been any upgrading of the 6000 over the years?

Agree. I have a BM6000 and used it with a CDX for many years. I used a CD7000 when the CDX became unreliable and it did not sound very good at all for some reason - very cold and digital. I think the BM6000 and the CDX were just very well matched. I now use a BC9500 with the S120 speakers and am very pleased with the CD sound it produces, it too is

Thanks for that Van. A useful guide. Can I make a request that current average pricing information is given a more prominent position on the site?
