To whet the appetites of all lucky enough to visit Struer with BeoWorld, here is an appetiser! The second week of June saw Lee and myself meet down at Harwich for a repeat visit to Struer having previously made the trip some two years previously. I had driven last time and so Lee was determined to take the lead this time - and how! On this occasion

I have had RL60.2s and have the following observations: 1. I think sited on the floor they sound exactly as you describe - muddy. 2. Changing the capacitors does liven them up a bit. 3. They are far better on stands. They do sound better than RL45s though.

I agree completely - the awards a way of saying thank you to those members who put a large amount of effort in for no financial reward. We try to make sure thatr the deserving get brought to the fore - one reason Lee and I exclude ourselves each year is so that those of us who are less in your face are recognised. I can use any type of file - I use Adobe Acrobat on my Mac to make up the manuals - I either scan them directly in or use either jpg or other image files. I am slightly limited at present as my A3 scanner is once again on the blink!

I count myself very lucky to number him as one of my best friends. I did suggest that the BeoWorld 2012 trip should be limited to those who voted ...

I am in complete agreement. The Beogram 1700 really is an excellent deck. I think it probably is the best of the radial decks - it has a decent platter, the arm is the new type but using the MMC20 range so not quite as ultra lightweight - I think B&O went a little too far with the later ones - is beautifully simple for a fully automatic deck and

Depends what sort you want. If used in a static position, a ribbon aerial will suffice - Maplins will see you a cheap one. You can get the telescopic ones but they are not as good in my experience. Clearly best of all is a dedicated external FM aerial - but this is probably overkill.

His reputation was well trailed by Lee who described him as a chap who could make the composition of a billiard ball sound exciting.
Hi Peter, Thanks for the glowing report! (My Mom was very proud when she read it. ;-) ) I enjoyed our chat as well! Now, however, I feel compelled
