I was actually referring to Google to find a replacement set of woofers. You might be able to find other speakers in which the same woofers were used and find a pair of those for parts.

There have been two types of laser used in BeoCenter 9000, the CDM2 mechanism and the CDM4. The CDM2 can be a bit noisy, nothing can be done about that, it is in the design of the laser. Only solution is replacing it with a CDM4 laserunit, if you can get hold of one.

Welcome to BeoWorld. Only MCL82 will work on your BeoMaster 5000. MCL2 can be used, but for that you need a special converter which is quite rare.

Lijkt me niet goed. Gezien de leeftijd lijkt het me dat er nog garantie op zit, dus ik zou eens contact opnemen met je dealer!

One of the woofers might have been replaced in a repair and might have had an update between the time it was released and repaired, that would explain the difference.

Dat is nu net degene die meestal niet slecht is. Er zitten op de printen verschillende rode kunststof condensatoren, deze zijn vaak lek of gaan lekken. Dit kun je zien aan scheurtjes en geel materiaal op de bovenkant. Mijn advies is om deze condensatoren allemaal te vervangen, ook degenen die nog goed lijken. If you do it right you can blow up every speakers. It is not the constant sound that does the damage, the high peaks in the music do the damage. And there is no way of protecting speakers for every situation, a peak in sound is already there before the protection can kick in. So use them wisely and you will have years of great fun from your BeoLab's

Maybe the CD-player needs some service after 23 years or more?
