Whilst I do not have an MS Media Centre, I do have a good knowledge of the Lintronics box and I have one sat in front of me which I use for various tests. The Lintronics box is very flexable and some may say to flexable because it is able to translate almost (99%) of IR codes to what you want. It has all the standard conversion tables and you can build

Does the buzzing sound like a relay going off and on ? What are the Beolab 4000's powerlink cables connected too ? If so this is almost certainly going to be an earthing problem. Also if the buzzing does sound like a relay, has any new electrical/electronic equipment being added recently which runs off the same power ring main ?

Years ago I had this type of issue and after the firmware had been updated in the unit, it resolved the problem. What is the 4 digit Type number on the back of the unit ?

It should be connected via a high value resistor. On most USB outlets and powered hubs the +5 volts is rated at 500ma and all you need is a pull-up to raise the voltage above +2.5

Kalle, The simple fact is that the Playstation 3 is non IR, so no matter what IR remote you are using it will need a converter, so ....mr Anders(son) is quite right in his suggestion.

Dave, These are Powerlink speakers where pin 4 must be greater then 2.5 volts to switch the speakers on and pin 1 must be greater than 2.5 volts to switch the Powerlink on.
