• Re: Refoaming cx100

The battery trick helps as well - connect a 1.5V battery to the driver. First to push the cone outwards so it'll be easier to apply the glue, then to pull it inwards which helps to center the cone. I used this with the method from the Good Hifi manual with good success, although I had to redo one of the six drivers from my CX50+100 project (check

  • Re: Beovox S75 capacitors

    Thanks for the thanks
I own a pair of S60's as well. Is there a way they make them sound more.. uuuhm.. active? They sound accurate, but rather dull and too silky for my taste. It's like the bass is staying in the box instead of throwing it into the listening room. It kinda feels like I'm listening to the

  • Re: Newbie to B&O - Needs some help with Beogram CD 7000
Can anyone give me any advice on how to get a remote working for the 7000? - Is it reall only through the beomaster and an additional remote?
Unfortunately yes. CD50 had an optional remote module, but the later decks don't. You could control it through the Datalink interface just like the Beomaster

  • Re: BM6500 No response to remote!

I suppose it will wipe the timers as well? Good info. Any chance of getting the service manual on site? The lack of proper manuals for these later models has annoyed me greatly...

  • Re: BM 3000-2 tuner dial cord

I have used hot glue for similar problems in other kit. It usually holds well enough and is much easier to remove than epoxy, if need be. I haven't seen the 3000-2 slider though, the prong might be too small for this.

  • Re: Newbie to B&O - Needs some help with Beogram CD 7000

Welcome to the forums Joe! The CD5500 lacks the tray cut-out for CD singles and has a different optical deck. Otherwise the 5500/6500/7000 are all pretty much identical. I think the 5500 has RCA outputs - the others don't, but getting an adapter is no problem. All have a coaxial optical output as well. I suppose you realize that if you don't

  • Re: Beocenter 9300 CD lid doesn't close properly
I have replaced both belts and cleaned the tracks on my BC9000. If I switch the BC on, open both lids and press standby, the cassette lid closes first, then the CD's. The difference is small but clearly notable and everytime the same so it's not a random cause of friction. It looks actually very good,

  • Re: BM 3000-2 recap
While we are on the subject,I notice that the 3000-2 has a lot of tantalum electrolytics.Do these deteriorate over time and need replacement like the others?
Yes! Aluminum electrolytics usually just lose their high frequency characteristics (ESR goes up). Tantalums do that just as well, but can even short circuit

  • Re: Beocenter touch panel sensitivity

Just a damp cloth. Actually I'm starting to suspect there is something wrong with the AC power in general, some other equipment in the office has started misbehaving as well, ethernet errors and such... need to try it in some other room.
