B&O sell ICEpower amp's to more than 50 different companies producing amplifiers, loudspeakers, in-car solutions, etc. Here are a few of them: Can't see this as worrying at all - might be fun to see what ICEpower can do in a mobile phone.

Puncher: Only issue with the DAC route is that if you do ever land the BL5's then it either becomes redundant or you end up converting the signal twice. Ideally need a switchable digital "patchbay" with the output connected to the Lab5's. This would allow all digital sources to use the Lab5's, using their internal DAC and be converted
-
Puncher: A DAC with switchable source would be a good idea so that you could select CD player or Hard Drive source etc. Or you could just plug the digital out of your CD5500 into Lab5's - all of those jitter / valve preamp specs of the source then become irrelevent Both the linked DACs have switchable, digital sources. I have my Beogram CD6500 linked

joeyboygolf: Peter: I agree with Soundproof about the BL3s. I am very sceptical about running in speakers but in the case of the BL3s, it certainly was my experience as well. I am sceptical as well although I have never had a new pair! Is there not an arguement that after 250 hours the listener just gets used to the sound!!! Hi Joey, I put it to the

Which is where I leap to defending the BL3s! I'm very happy with mine. Did you run them in? Takes them about 250 hours to settle in properly.

Peter: Off tomorrow to audition a non B&O CD player!! Thinking about this one ! Have actually already bought the Musical Fidelity Headphone Amplifier and decided I needed a good CD plater. My CD-50 has just gone on strike and the headphone socket on the BC2 is simply dire!! Also a bit cheesed off with B&O at present and don't feel like giving
-
The concept for the BC2 is interesting, but I miss a few things. The player should be able to interpret SACD, that B&O haven't gone for that format is mysterious. It's a quality brand, and it directs itself towards people concerned with quality. Nearly all classical and jazz releases from good labels are now available either as stand-alone

linder: As it turns out that advice isn't really true. That remark was quoted in the Huffington post and has been retracted. I thought it was strange at the time that Steve Jobs would offer that advice. Small world - I saw "Steve Job's suggestion" on Huffingtonpost as well. And I always thought the Serene was a dress phone for evenings

Steve Jobs has a nice suggestion for you: go to one of the phone stores carrying Cingular executive phones. They'll have the iPhone.
