That means you have a Mark I version and the RF chip issue is quite a common issue. However B&O make a repair kit part number 3455103 for about £50 which includes the following items:- This will make your Mark I phone into a Mark II phone EXCEPT that it will NOT have an Earset socket but WILL still work on your Mark I chargers.

The reason is because the NTSC colour sub-carrier is 4.43 MHz instead of 3.58 MHz. You are right that more up to date TV's will handle this, so you will need a converter. You need something like the converter HERE

Your problem is almost certainly caused by a faulty RF chip in the handset. Which version of Beocom 6000 do you have ? in other words does it have a black DOT at the 9 o'clock position on the dial or the letters INT This problem can be fixed and the cost will depend on which version you have.

Given your requirements and type of use, there is no question you should get a AVANT DVD, Fantastic picture, built in DVD player and when in the future you have some extra cash, you can add front and rear powerlink speakers which still makes a great viewing and listening experience.

You are correct, the PC2/Beoport does NOT use a DIN, but instead a Jack and only uses three wire connections as I previously stated. The three wires are:- +5 volts -- Yellow wire Ground -- Brown Wire IR -- Green wire The part numbers are NOT the same. The correct part number is in my previous posting

You will need to get your dealer to change the format value assigned to Widescreen. Better still, get your dealer to add a couple more buttons for all the Format variations as well as changing the "Widescreen" button in case you ever need them.

I agree with the other responses, if you are interested and want a Beo5 that's fine, but you should not be pushed into parting with the Beo4.
