Can't you change the rip quality on beoplayer? I was messing around with it yesterday, and I came across a menu for something to do with CD bit rates (not sure if it was ripping or burning). Isn't the difference between mp3 and aac files only in the bit rate cap? The highest bit rate that I can think of in my iTunes library is 258kbps. Is this

Is there any way besides having a BS5 or BM5 to play AAC digital files on BeoPlayer? How do you convert AAC files in iTunes to WMA or mp3 on a windows PC? Thanks all
-
Well dave that is sort of what I already have in place, but now that I know that beoport isnt just software I am more interested in controlling my mp3s with the Beo4. I originally thought that beo port was some sort of B&O alternative to itunes. What I ultimately want to accomplish is control my itunes playlists and songs with the beo4.

So are the benifits of beoport for connectivity purely? Or are there sound processing improvements as well? What about BeoPlayer?

Just a few questions about BeoPort in my search for quality mp3 playback. Does beoport work with PC/windows? Does it work with iTunes? What kind of cable hook up is best between a computer and BeoMaster 4500? Can a Beo4 control BeoPort with a PC? How does the internet radio function? And any other comments please. Thanks -Ev

Welcome first off, I was in the same situation you are in right now, but with a BeoMaster 4500. I was looking for a BeoLink 1000 but I couldn't find one that was reasonably priced, or find one at all for that matter. However, most times I found that the Beo4 (new) was actually competitive in pricing with the BeoLink 1000. I was able to get a Beo4

thats what i thought. i personally don't need one since the laser is in plain sight, but i guess it helps with they tray-style CD players where the laser is hard to get to.
-
So my dad brought home a CD the other day and it has these two brushes on the bottom side so that when you play it, it dusts off the laser in your CD player. Before I went using it, I thought I would check and see if anyone had any thoughts about this. So does anyone think that the bristles will scratch the laser eye? -Ev

Well everyone, I know its a little late to reply but I was out shoppin for an iPod dock and Crosley is now making one that looks nearly identical to that one. Next trend maybe? haha

If they do come out with a sound dock I think they should come out with one that is similar to BeoSound 1 that could compete with the Bose docks and competitively priced.
