I can categorically say that the upgraded software fixes the white flash problem, after extensive testing early this evening. Not seen it once! On a sidenote though, if someone here reported problems with the Apple TV using 1080p (and it appears to be a 1080p issue), it poses the question of how much 1080p testing did B&O do with the 1080p-based

Sadly, no. This was an issue I had with my old BV7-32 MKI, which was HD upgraded. Often I'd turn on Sky HD and find the 'snowstorm'. The only way around that was to switch to analogue TV and back to Sky, for the TV to re-handshake with the Sky box. I don't have this issue with the BV7-40 MKIII, so I don't know if the problem was

The answer, so far, appears to be 'yes', the software update to 4.01a does indeed fix the white flash issue with the PS3! You don't need a new PIM though - just the software update. It take a fair while to run the software upgrade, so allow a couple of hours. Credit must go to B&O Bath who have gone out of their way to offer a solution

They've not been yet. Due soon. I'll let you know.

RussR: Have any of you actually LOOKED at a MKIII? Especially with a true HD source? There is not another LCD TV on the planet that looks any better, and very few that look as good. Yes, it's absolutely superb with the best HD source. Sky Movies through HD, football on HD and so on. However, the majority of UK TV is still either SD or upscaled SD

sw 3.50a. If you read above....the problem is fixed in sw 4.0a, so my dealer is coming around tomorrow to update. I'll let you know if this works.

Martin, just out of interest, which software revision is your BV7-40 MKIII?
-
"Is your PS3's RGB Full range (HDMI) set to full or limited? Its in settings - display settings." I've tried both options. In fact, I've tried altering all the different options - that was the first thing I did when I realised there was a problem. Also, I moved my PS3 to a friend who has a low-end LG LCD, with all the same settings

joeyboygolf: I agree entirely, so that's 2 right thinking people. Maybe we are another minority within BeoWorld or just the only sensible ones!?!? Sadly you've never going to get any sensible debate in a forum, that meets all requirements. A forum enables users who are relatively 'shy' in real life to be vocal behind their computer.

JoC: Sounds to me like some sort of HDCP issue, but then again you said SkyHD is working. I dont suppose you have disconnected the SkyHD - just incase the BV7 can only handle 1 HDMI/HDCP connection (clutching at straws I know...). I would really like you to get this sorted (and to keep us informed), because at the moment the PS3 seems the best/cheapest
