What do you plan to do with a dismantled typewriter?

In response to the initial question, why does B&O do a lot of things? Why does B&O have all this wild styling? Why does B&O have one of the fastest CD changers in the world? In my opinion its the cool factor, plain and simple. Having B&O products is a very specific and rare desire. I like the unecessary gizmos personally.

I agree with what ja said up there near the top. My '88 BM4500 is fantastic and I also have a Yamaha R-7 Natural Sound from around that period as well as a newer Yamaha Natural Sound from around '02 and the R-7 wins hands down. Today's new stuff is nice, but it can't compete with old school .

Has anyone used a USB UIRT (universal infared receiver transmitter) with a computer? My main goal is to use a laptop to control all my mis-match AV equipment.

What exactly is a media center xp computer?
-
I was thinking it would be cool if I were able to control all my A/V equipment with a computer. Does anyone know if there is software that could do this?
-
That's good news linder. Can anyone expand on self programming of the beo5? Does this aformentioned software allow you to insert IR codes for non B&O products?
-
Okay everyone I called my dealer (Columbus), and they said that after the $195 credit it brings the beo5 down to $360 without programming (the gentleman said programming would run another couple hundred bucks!). Is there any way to get it programmed/configured for a reasonable price? And I have another question; is the charger/base included?

Sorry to hear of your loss. So does anybody know what the Beo5 goes for regularly (without exchange) in USD?
-
I recently got an email from my dealer saying that i could trade in my beo4 for a beo5, with the beo4 at full value $195. My questions are: Will the boe5 work with a BS4500 with 1.6 s/w (one way com)? What is the cost difference? Thanks all.
