Unfortunately I've never opened one, so can't help there... we don't seem to have a service manual either (I'm afraid these were never meant to be serviced). But if there are screws visible, I wouldn't expect any special tricks are needed to open it. Hopefully someone else knows more about the internals.

Soundproof, where do you get these stories? There has been no "DOS core" in Windows since NT 3.1... I'm sure that story of yours is a great bar joke at the Apple evangelists' convention, but let's try to stay with the facts here. Or just bury this crappy thread

Well, there's not much else in there to directly suffer from physical hits than the fuse... Of course it could've knocked open a soldering joint of some heavier component, but start with the simple things.
BTW, we also found out that German cars are strongly preferred around this crop of self-selected Bang & Olufsen enthusiasts, with a Swedish automobile outlier here and there
I didn't have much choice on the Volvo, it kind of dropped into my hands. PCs exclusively at home and at work. Most of them

Welcome from me as well Missing bands/straps on the RL speakers is very common. They are I guess made of mylar or polypropylene and get fragile with age. And when they snap, they get of course removed and thrown away as there's really no way to fix them... They are purely for looks, but IMHO do an important job at that - be careful with the remaining
We do have a B&O / Mac forum , shall i move these Apple / B&O related topics to that forum ?
I don't think moving threads does any good after they've started rolling... those who would like to follow them get lost, and those who usually only read through the "Not read" feature (like

Problem solved... the power supply for a security camera splitter / multiplexer was just approaching melting point, although it still worked. Apparently it somehow managed to disturb the whole AC phase and equipment connected to it, backwards through an UPS!
