Peter, The main point I was making is that the power output of the speaker is different from the power consumption (watts) and curremt (amps) drawn from the mains. A 5 amp fuse will be fine, but I would actually use a 3 amp slow blow fuse which takes into account small spikes in current drawn from the mains without the fuse blowing.

I think there is a lot of confusion with the AV & Decoder sockets and their assignment for several reasons:- The way they were assigned changed depending on software version of the TV The sources available would dynamically change in the Decoder menu depending on what you had set the AV too. What appeared as possible sources would also depend if

Whilst a Beolab 2 can produce a maximum of 850 watts of output power, that is NOT the power drawn from the mains socket, if it was you would have some very high electricity bills Power drawn by a Beolab 2 from the 240 volt mains has a maximum of 15 watts running and 400 milli-watts in standby. You can change a battery in a Beocom 6000 handset without entering a code. If it asks you for a pin code the default is 0000, but if you get this request you have a different problem.

Dan, You said in response to my question Are you sure that the correct STB has been selected from the list in the Beovision STB list ? The connection is to Pace ntl (as set up by the dealer) the actual model is Pace DI4000T This may be the core of your problem because whilst your box appears to react to Beo4 commands, apparently Pace NTL and Pace DI4000T

So, both handsets are Mark I's If you have followed the previous advice by:- Pressing the button on the base and hold it for about 2 seconds until the indicator light on the base flashes. Press the phone symbol and it should say REGISTER BASE ? you then press OK If the above does NOT work then it means that your purchased handset is still registered
