Well, if there's now a new fault, I suppose it will have to be something that you introduced so check what you've done before diagnosing any further. Reverse it if need be. Check especially the PCB tracks. Some of these boards have a nasty tendency to develop cracks where the tracks meet with the solder pads and you can only see them using a

Dietmar, Welcome to Beoworld ! Sorry for the delay, I have just read your message now. Yes, I can help you with a tweeter. You have a PM (check your inbox at the extreme top right corner of this webpage). Martin

The TX doesn't count pulses like the BG8000 etc. but instead has a sensor and a ruler, more like the BG4002. I seem to remember there's a metal ruler inside with holes for the lowering points. Maybe some dust have settled there or in the sensor(s) ? Or a sensor is at fault. Martin

Hi Edwin, Welcome to Beoworld ! Probably a power fault, some wrong load somewhere or a capacitor fault. Capacitor kits exists for almost all of the Beomaster models, including this one, and it's highly recommended to replace the lot (there's many in there). Having said that, I would check the 15V supply first and the solder joints to the large

Is the little red "left arrow" on the tip of the sensor arm lit when the carriage moves left ? If so, check the adjustments on the backside of the << and >> buttons. It's mentioned in the service manual. And yes, as always capacitors. Martin

This thread was started by a troll, one we know only too well here and who have been trying his "luck" countless times (without much success) but of course some people like to feed those trolls and believe in them more than anyone else on the forum. Funny to think that on any other forum I know and/or visit, a thread like this would have been

You're right, John; We are not independent of Bang & Olufsen. Not at all, actually. If it wasn't for B&O, we wouldn't be here at all! And if they disappear, we will too sooner or later. Besides, I believe Lee already had the photo removed by the time B&O told us about it. Martin

I agree, but the open switch can also be blocked by the top cover if the top cover sits too far forward. The top cover mounts to the bottom plate, so if the bottom plate is badly adjusted, the top cover will easily block the switch. Check if the switch is clicking before the alu bar bends enough to catch on the plastic side of the top cover. If not

Henrik, The capacitor kits are made by me so cannot be bought from B&O. Your woofers are welcome here (Copenhagen) for repair. You have a Private Message (check your inbox in the extreme top right corner of this page). Martin

Henrik, The turnaround time for refoam jobs is normally a matter of a few days, so nothing to worry about IMO. After 20+ years the capacitors will be if not bad then at least marginal by now. The speakers may sound good to you but are they actually performing as good as they can and as B&O intended ? Based on experience and many owners reactions
