Oh god. In that case, I think it's easier to get a new TV! :(

To be fair Flappo, we've going way off target with this discussion. We're supposed to be talking about the so-called new BV7-32 MKIV, not yet another discussion about how expensive B&O technology is these days. It's always like that. Instead of discussing, just don't buy. They'll get your message sooner rather than later.

ed7: where did you buy new bv7-32 for £4k????!!!!!!!!! The BV7-32 is £4K without the (choice of) stand or (choice of) speaker. That's the basic price of the TV. Completely valid statement! I bought my original BV7-32 without a B&O speaker, for example. Quickly bought a 7.1 soon after though.

Erik-nl: Specs. available for the Beovision 7 mk IV And? Give us the specs. Even I could start a thread like that :) I'm guessing that you're suggesting they are preliminary specs and it's not going to be updated for a few months? I can't see them upgrading it much - perhaps two HDMI sockets? I'd be amazed if a £5K BS3 ended

I don't know, but I do know that the dealer upgraded every part of the TV that could be software upgraded. I think the PIM module was software upgraded. Are you saying that the PIM module definitely needs replacing? Any news on sw 4.03?

The Stig - ver. 1.7: Did your dealer replace the PIM module when he did the SW update? No, he said he didn't need it to be replaced. Besides, this is (or was at the time) a 5 week old TV! I think I'd be rather miffed if it required a hardware replacement after 5 weeks of ownership. Are you definitely sure the PIM module needs replacing? If so

Bingo: Wouldn't it be a good idea that Philips takes over B&O? They have already owned a part in the past so know the company best I think. What would B&O bring to Philips that they wouldn't be able to license from B&O? B&O is a $900 million/year company. Philips is multi-billion $/year company. In fact, I seriously doubt Philips

"Sorensen says consumers often don't really know what they want. Instead, B&O designers intuit the products that will fly. "[Our] ideas...are not the result of market analysis but rather a deep understanding of how our consumers live," says Sorensen." Doesn't that sum up what a lot of us think of B&O in 2008? ie lack
-
Jandyt: I'm with you on this, Graham. It does seem a little odd Barry, that you are asking a site full of B&O fans how to get rid of B&O! Why? There should be a line between obsession and practicality. Sadly that's where forums falls down - people see obsession over practicality. In a business world you need to see and embrace other

a2bur: Hello . I have a BV7-40 on order that is to be delivered next Friday , should I insist that it has this 4.03 update and if not wait till a set is available with it ? Richard I wouldn't wait. Even your dealer may be unaware of the sw revision of shipped BV7-40's. Why not make it a condition of purchase that you should receive at least
