j0hnbarker: because they were getting the best performing and looking set on the market. I think the point Flappo is making is that today B&O are not using the best panels and not pushing the most up to date connectivity.. John, with all due respect I think you need to see a BV7-40 MKIII for yourself, with the right source, before stating they are

Flappo The Grate: it doesn't help when bno tv's are basically rebadged panasonics and samsungs Flappo, I think you're starting to lose all credibility. Time to move on, I think. Didn't you just say in another thread, yesterday, that you were considering a BV7-40?
-
355f: I doubt they would be so supotive if they had bought the later gear! I don't care much for Sony, Apple, B&O or similar. They are corporations who are out to make a profit for their shareholders. I buy my products for functionality, design, support and ability to interact, wherever I source the hardware. I think the people with the older

Doh, Flappo sometimes you really contradict yourself. A 46" or 50" LCD would be a poor choice with the majority of the content SD based. I would not like to watch SD-only football on a 50" BV7. It would be painful viewing. Why encourage B&O to go down this route - they already know about the pixelisation issues with the 40"!

Justin: The problem I have in putting the £7k of cash on the table for say a new BV7-40 is that I know that in 6 months its out of date.. This is something I hear over and over again on the Apple forums and simply cannot understand. Every electronic purchase is generally 'out of date' in 6 months. Buy a MacBook Pro, it will be updated
-
355f, that's exactly what I've said above (ie. we know it's only an issue with the B&O BV7-40 MKIII).
-
You didn't read the thread - it's from the Playstation 3. Others experience the problem with Blu-ray playback. Also, the other problem isn't HDCP handshaking as before the sw update Sky was displayed in around 2 seconds, wheras it's now around 10 seconds.
-
BTW, sorry if I wasn't clear....when I said 'a LOT longer', above, I meant since it has been upgraded to sw 4.01. Sky HD used to start immediately - within a couple of seconds of pressing the button on the Beo4. Now it's around 10-12 seconds!
-
I don't bother getting the controller to turn off the Sky box....as often it doesn't turn it on, either! Often I'd have to manually switch the STB back on and, now it's situated on the wall behind the TV, it's almost impossible to turn on/off manually, without knocking in to the TV. Best let the box auto-manage it's own sleep
-
No, that wasn't happening. On Sky HD the curtains appear. However, it does take a LOT longer for a picture to appear, after switching on the TV (ie. pressing 'V.MEM'). Sometimes I think there's a problem as it takes a lot longer to appear. It's the same on Sky as it is on the DVB-T, although Sky takes longer to appear on-screen.
