B&O to me is more of a precision piece, sort of on the opposite end of the spectrum than paradigms. Yea I'm going to do it myself, and I will be repalcaing the entire thing for many obvious reasons. I'm not anywhere near them right now so I cant look, are the cord connections just tie ins with screws or soldered?

So I guess my next question is, if the polarity a major player in the plug? It may sound stupid, I'm just trying to get things right. Does it use same size prongs or unequal?

So all I will ultimately be doing is adding a wall plug? No offense taken mika. Im still going to get that picture everyone.

The Beo 4 is what I use, but I can live with the inconvenience of the phono keystrokes as I don't have a phonograph

Oh no worries graham. My problem however lies in the amplification, there are wires that have been cut, it looks like a lamp cord. I'm assuming this is the problem?
