I would think that only your dealer can tell you whether they are still available - certainly worth a visit or phone call.

wonderfulelectric: Upsampling is simply used to make the life of the D/A easier and also push as much of the high frequency noise away from the cds bandwidth thereby minimizing the effects of the digital filter that will be employed to remove that noise. I was under the impression that this process was called over sampling and is achieved by re-sampling

beoman247: Thanks every much every one but is the "tuned port" going to be expensive?? Thanks The tuned port kit from B&O dealer was ~£60 two years ago.

I didn't really get the circle thing either (and the music is terrible - a B&O speciality it seems) but I forgive them as we are shortly to find out what the all hype has been about

As a reality check, this thread started out discussing whether or not Lab 5 drivers needed breaking in. I dropped out of the current discussion some time ago as it seemed, to me, to have deteriorated into a stream of quotes from hifi publications along with long lists of expensive components. Nevertheless it has been an interesting thread to date with

Hi there Beoman247, Given a few minutes I could point you to a myriad of threads on the subject of refurbishing RL60s. On the other hand if you search in the General and Vintage forums you can find the threads yourself by searching for RL60 and ABR's. Distilling all advice you can replace the failed ABR with a replacement "tuned port"

I can only say that, regardless of the cabinet material and the driver manufacturers, they do what they do and are all but universally acclaimed by those that have had significant exposure (unfortunately I personally have only heard them in store and its likely to remain that way without a signifcant lottery win ) As for the B&W's, I'm sure
