• A brace of Beocord 5000s and a Beocentre 4000 - free!

I seem to have an obsession with acquiring complex B&O cassette recorders that don't work, particulary Beocord 5000 Type 4715. This has been a worrying affliction, but having recently bought a Beocord 9000 that works, I feel strong enough now to part with them! One is in Rosewood, the other Teak. Cosmetically they are OK, with the odd light
Thanks guys The rooms are all lit by my collection of old lamps. The living room shot is lit with seven individual lamps all with lovely incandescent bulbs (I hate energy savers) and this probably accounts for the warmth :) Some great shots - keep this thread going as I'm particularly loving the shots where old

  • Re: Problem with CDX

Thanks Martin, However, my soldering skills are laughable - literally! Tim Jarman fell about laughing when he looked at my attempts to solder in a new speed trimmer bulb provided by you for my Beogram 4004. Cleve

  • Problem with CDX

Apologies for this one but I've trawled through the 56 pages of threads related to 'CDX' and, although I'm sure there is a suitable response in there somewhere, I can't find it! Benn happily using a CDX for 12 months or so with no problems. After a hour or so of use, I changed a CD and suddenly sound levels very low and distorted
Manchester United 0 Leeds United 1 Sorry Scumchester but Leeds did you good and proper today. We'll be back in the big time shortly where we belong at the expense of some of the joke Premier League teams like Wigan who can't get a gate of 9,000 at home unless they're playing a top-four side. We took 9

  • Re: Beocenter 9500 or 2500 for my father?

I've got a Beosystem 2500 and a BC 9500 and I like them both. I bought the 2500 new nearly 20 years ago and it hasn't missed a beat. It's a very early model with a good Phillips chip (TDA 1541) running the CD player. The 9500 is beautiful and gives the option of running both active and passive speakers. I use both with a Beolink 5000 remote
Merry Christmas Cleve! Vintage B&O and vintage Saab.................. was it the Saab that got you those points? Graham
Graham, Can't really blame the car - but yes it was! Too easy to be cruising at over 100, even in a '94 9000 CSE with 135,000 miles on the clock. I could blame B&O - I was

  • Christmas greetings and some thoughts on Beoworld

Christmas greetings and some thoughts on Beoworld Back in April I caught the most virulent strain of the Beovirus – the vintage collecting one. I now have a Beogram 4004, a Beogram 1700, a Beomaster 4400, 2 Beocord 5000s and a pair of Beovox S45.2 s all in beautiful Rosewood. Recently I’ve added a Beocenter 9500 and a pair of CX100s. In
I have what I regard as the collection of the best older B&O products, having thinned down my collection considerably. This includes: Beolab 5000 system Beolab 8000 system Beosystem 4400 Beosystem 7000 The one I would keep would be the Beolab 5000 system. Just better made than all the others - the 8000 system is very

  • Re: Saab

It certainly looks like the end, although I suspect like vintage B&O, there will be very strong owner-driven support for keeping existing models on the road. The SAAB owners club in the UK is very active much like 'Beoworld' and I hope I will be able to keep my old 9000 going a bit longer. A distinctive and idiosyncratic marque - much like
