I would recommend you to clean the heads with the cleanest Isopropanol (IPA - Isopropylalcohol) on cutton swabs before you record a tape or every ten hours of operation. It all depends on the age of your tape collection and how much they are shedding oxides.

The problem is that my Father is beginning to flood the house with more B&O! Thanks to me, he now has 3 complete Beosystems and some loose Beomasters lying around

That is actually a good idea, Chartz! That also gives better acess to the PCB, I think. The faders could very well also use a clean-up. Tried to power the unit on to be sure that it worked, last time I used it is around may. Pressed a random switch on the bank to turn it on. The "O. load" lamp briefly flashes and the protection relay steps

Thanks, Evan! It's nice to know that I'm not alone when it comes to be a young BeoCollector! I have several systems in storage unfortunately The Teak veneer is actually a little different compared to my normal preferences, I tend to like rosewood better, having all other systems in rosewood; but the teak really adds a contrast to the anodised

Hello and welcome to Beoworld. Sad to hear the passing of your grandfather, though congratulations for getting such a fine system. The Beomaster 3000 is a receiver (a tuner with built in amplifier) to which you can connect speakers. It is a very reliable unit, being of a very good design. The 3000 pumps 2*30 watts PC out and 2*40 for the newer 3000

Just removed exess dirt from the middle plate behind the control panel - over 30 years of dirt collected on a bunch of cotton swabs, the last part removed with 99% isopropanol. It's a little hard to take a good picture of the situation.

Hello, you might remember me posting about wanting to recap my 4400 a loong time ago. Now I finally have the spare time (sort of) to do it. Firstly, I think that this thread could be used as a general guide on dealing with these monstrous receivers. I thought it is strange that there apparently wasn't a thread dealing with the 4400 in details. At

Found a teak Beomaster 3400 with matching Beovox S-35's at the local Salvation Army. Everything works, just in need of idle current adjustments. Maybe this could form the base of a four-channel system with a Beogram 3400 fitted with CD-4 board, some S-45's as front speakers That project could be kinda fun to try out, though I don't have

The Beocord 5500 is really a wonderful machine. The Autoreturn makes it good when you aren't there to change side and the heads+electronics are very fine indeed. My 5500 has been working fine and haven't been with problems yet, these machines are very stable. The Beocord 5000 is basically a fusion between a Beocord 2000 and an 8004; The transport

There are a couple of threads on Beoworld regarding transport of Beograms. The general rules are: 1: Remove and ship the platter seperately from the Beogram 2: There are three transport screws under the Beogram, fastening them will lock the suspension thus preventing it from destroying internal parts. 3: Protect the stylus 4: Be sure that the carriage
