There are separate adjustments for 33 & 45 that can be accessed through the bottom of the deck, but there shouldn't be any need to touch them. Most likely you need a new belt.

You should check the actual outputs of the chip, they will count up & down in binary along with the volume - pins 14-18 for R channel, 9-13 for L (and obviously equally in both channels

I'll start from the easier question... The MANUAL indicator is indeed a LED and it is driven by the MM5450 chip (pin 36) on the amplifier board. That chip is working as you'd see a lot more problems without it, but it could have a dead output. More likely you have a broken solder at the wiring connectors carrying the signal or on the circuit

OK, not really, but I got your attention I got these power cords with a pair of Powerline network adapters, I have absolutely no use for them, and I hate throwing stuff like this in the bin. So if you need a pair of UK mains socket (3A fuses included) to IEC7 "figure-8" plug cords, they are yours for the price of postage: at most 6.50€

At which point is the STB switched on (if you ever switch it off)? Does the picture appear if you cycle the STB off/on instead of the TV?
