Peter, In regard to a Silver Cloud, if ever you take the plunge, buy the BEST car you can find as there is nothing in this world more expensive than a “cheap” Rolls-Royce. The first series with its 6 cylinder engine is virtually bullet-proof, but it also comes with the “one-step lubrication system, which squirts oil on all the parts

If it is important to you, a 1937 Hooper bodied Sports Saloon Rolls-Royce 25/30, a 1963 Standard Steel Saloon Silver Coud III, a 1982 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur, and a 1984 Rolls-Royyce MPW Corniche Drophead Coupe.

I have a new issue with my Beocord 9000. Several weeks ago I noticed a muted growl when the Beocord was functioning. This continued even in the stop mode until the 9000 goes into its “sleep” mode. Having owned several fine British motorcars, I am accustomed to listening for sounds of trouble, and quite frankly, this “didn’t sound

Well I took the plunge and purchased a very handsome, professionally rebuilt Beogram 8002 and am completely delighted. This unit is absolutely silent in all regards, including when the solenoid engages and the tonearm drops. This Beogram 8002 came with a nice MMC3 cartridge which is not a good as the MMC1, but sounds beyond acceptable. Definitely a

Hi Martin, The Beogram 4002 is fixed. It required a couple of minor (tiny) adjustments. Thank you for your help . I now have 4 1/2 working turntables: Beogram 4002, 4004, 8002, 1602, and the half is the 4000 which is now running beautifully, as long as I do not allow it to attempt to play a record. (I know this is useless but it does allow for "exercise"

Hi Derek, Yes I saw that, and thank you. I called twice, but did not manage to connect. While I like the idea of avoiding the folks at Customs who are more brutal than ANY shipper, my Beogram 4000 has had a MOST checkered past and I have zero confidence to the parade of repairs that were made on it. As such, I would prefer to risk Customs and accept

Hi Martin, This is a duplicate message in case you missed the other one on the less read thread. The problem of the tonearm being dragged across the record has been located, if not permanently fixed. The issue is at the senor which “thought” the tonearm was too far to the right, hence the leftward drift. Once adjusted the up/down function

Hi Martin, The problem of the tonearm being dragged across the record has been located, if not permanently fixed. The issue is at the senor which “thought” the tonearm was too far to the right, hence the leftward drift. Once adjusted the up/down function is back and the 4002 is again playing records. Unfortunately, after a single play the

Martin, Just a quick codicil. My last message could easily be mistaken for a lack of gratitude on my part, which is not the case . I am merely exhausted from my attempts to resurrect my Beogram 4000, adjusting the Beogram 4002, and now this backwards turning platter on the Beogram 8000 and blinking lamp….. unexpected and unwelcome. BUT that does

Martin, My frustration level with this Beogram 8000 has reached the point where it is best left alone for a while. Five plus hours to VERY carefully install your cap kit have rendered this turntable useless. Needles to say, the problem is not the fault of your fine kit , but something has occurred to make the platter rotate backward with the platter
