I think we need to be careful what we say when we say things like "with a decent source." The fact of the matter is that HD screens look better with HD content and SD screens look better with SD. While the Avant is king among 480p tube televisions, it can't hold a candle to HD content on a 720p or 1080p

Everything comes apart, the question is of damage. I certainly wouldn't want to experiment and risk the total loss of my Beocom 2. Maybe if someone has a cosmetically ugly and non-functional Beocom 2 it might be worth investigating.....

It can be done - I've done it. it is, however, a total pain in the bum. You have to crack the glued joint all the way around the handset, which is difficult to do without damaging the plastic. I used a table knife, and lots of patience. Eventually it will come apart, with 2 "hinges" at the top. Should be easy to fix once inside, and you
Apart from the Logicar Jensen also designed the one, which was based on a Citroën XM. Not exactly a looker...
...well it was, until JJ got hold of it. The interior work was more promising (if you ever get to see a pic). The outside was, as you rightly say, a completely different matter. The XM per se is

The first one of these I ever did was when I got my first bit of B&O = a Beocenter 9500. Both doors off, all the strings completely detached
<snip> I'm not sure how the 55" BV7 will work. I was up North over the weekend and watched my Mum's old Avant and realised the picture - even with analogue signal - is superb. Got back to my place last night, switched on my BV7-40 and realised, with a SD-based digital signal, it was far inferior and

An excellent post Lee. I've learned a lot about Beoworld and you - as everyone says, thanks for sharing. My part in Beoworld is only a small one, but I absolutely love it here, and try to contribute as I can. If only I lived locally and you had a Saturday job going - getting paid to enthuse about B&O? I'd do it for free! Best wishes

Very hearty congratulations to all. Can't say I disagree with any of those choices
