This all started with a faulty MCP5500 and a search through the archives. I then sent an eamil to Chris....... I caught the year old thread via a search regarding non functioning MCP 5500 volume control. Do you have any more microswitches available. He could not find one and sent the following..... no joy I'm afaraid, I've looked in all the

I am after a microswitch for the MCP 5500 (or 6500) volume control. I am told that it is also available in any (broken) beogram record deck fron the 1980's (the 1800, rx, 2000, 5000 series) as there will be a couple of these switches lurking around under the platter. I recorded it too - have yet to watch it! I will be looking forward to sitting down tomorrow. As an asideI have been trying to work out my surround sound set up and think I am there now! It will be interesting to see how it sounds. Brian

I am not convinced this will work. The sagging has taken place over many years and simply placing a weight on the inverted part may temporarily work - but soon after returning it to the correct upright postion I would think it fill sag once again. I would be interested in any other ideas anyone has! Brian

The side strip from a 6500 is identical.... Sorry, can't help though! Brian
