I understand the impulse to modify the 9000. However, it seems to me that the Datalink enabled port offered by Ridax renders any modification less appealing in light of the comments above. Tapping into the display would be an amazing accomplishment on its own however.

As I understand it, the MCP 5000 and the MCP 5500 for example are different. Also, if I understand correctly and MCP 5500 cannot control a BC 9500. I believe BL 5000 and BL 7000 use the same protocol, and they can both control the BC 9500. Did you by any chance get the 9500 off Ebay (US) last night?

More than 40gb of music is a lot! But a 40gb hard disk really is very small by today's standards. Don't know how many digital inputs you have on BV7 vs the number of digital A/V sources. Lintronic has not quite solved the fast scroll, you are right. However, they have made it possible to more easily and quickly scroll through 1 or multiple screens

Why not try AppleTV. The price is low. Using Lintronic you have complete control! If you use iTunes it will sync to the AppleTV local hard disk. You will not need to have your PC on. If you want Link Room control you will need more than one Lintronic. With AppleTV + Lintronic you will still pay less than BeoMedia.

Why is the configuration dealer only. I understand most people don't get into it, but there should at least be an option. I have to believe that at some point we'll have available software for consumer configuration. The 3rd party IR support is exciting and a recognition on B&O's part that they cannot supply 100% of our toys.

The device is certainly HD. The navigation graphics are some of the best. Bus getting Quicktime HD results looks to be more difficult than I thought. Even SD DVD encoded in Quicktime are less than the original I think our eyes are probably better than our ears. I can absolutely tell the difference between a great CD and an ok (192) mp3. But for casual

I don't know if you can be selective as to which Playlists get synced. Video is definitely not HD. There's been some discussion about this here and in other places around the web. My view is that video quality lies between DVD and VHS. I don't have a BV7 but DVDs look fantastic on my Avant (US), Apple TV does not. That's ok with me,

I like and regularly use the Picture Mute function on my Avant. This really only makes sense wiith a TV that also has fantastic sound. Still, I would use this feature useful even in my Samsung LCD. I don't know of any other brand with this feature. Do you?
