damatt: The light sensor on the LX4500/LX5500 only adjusts the contrast, but the sensor on the LX5000/6000 also adjusts the colour and brightness during the day. They also have the newer Black Line/Black matrix screens (better black levels). Aha, is that why the LX5000/6000 tube looks darker (when it's not switched on) than the tube of the LX4500/5500

Faz: cheers guys I reckon a bit of love and some TLC and the TV will scrub up nice - but I agree - the stock photo looked awesome - I often find that pictures do not do justice to stuff like this - I tried to get a good pic of my MX4000 when I cleaned that and I could just not get one looking anywhere near as nice as the naked eye The LX4500 and LS4500

ben12345: I should have known better really than to buy an 'untested' MMC 6000 from ebay, Sorry tpo hear that :-( I've learnt the hard way that "untested" etc is ebay-speak for "I know that it doesn.t work, but I'm listing it as 'untested' to be able to actuall get any money fpr it". Every single "untested" item I've bought have been faulty

Alex: I don't know why people think they need two remotes? The Beo5 can do everything the Beo4 can, and heck of a lot more on top. But is it as easy to use as the Beo4? I haven't tried the Beo5, but in the early 90s a bought a bl7000 and a bl5000, and in the end I only used the bl5000 since it was easier to grab the bl5000 and change tv channel etc

I've been told that the vinyl edition of Portishead's new album is very nice. According to a friend of mine who has both the CD and the LP, the LP version has been mastered differently - more dynamic than the CD mastering, very nice in these over-compressed times. It sounds really, really good and of course it's nice to know that there still exist mastering

Ignace: I noticed that several members have chosen the displayed name "Alex".... Yes. IMO the forum software shouldn't allow multiple users to choose identical screennames.

Great! From now on I'm going to use that link when I report auctioned fakes on the Swedish auction site Tradera. I've reported several auctions (at least 15...) to Tradera (owned by Ebay) the last month, but they don't seem to take it seriously.
