I do understand the question of proportion; but 20 years ago, the size of a cassette and CD were fixed by the industry, designing around them was simplified compared to the minimum requirement here. How does one deal with 2nd Gen Nanos, iPhones and iPads all at once? Perhaps the best answer is not to.
This I think
Nice pull Trip! I was in the shop today and heard a remark made by a shopper that the BS-8 reminded him of the original BeoSystem 2500. Having stumbled onto this thread, I am forced to agree with that anonymous commenter, and Trip. Consider that the singular shock of the 2500's design was to present all of the sources

Yes, facepalm indeed:
Out of curiosity, what would you have added? At a certain point you move from design into decoration. What part of the form is unresolved? What's missing? What's extraneous?
Hmm, his point wasn't that something was extraneous,
Cars reflect their country of origins very well!
Shhh, the Americans might take offense!
I shouldn't they are more like beko than Bang & olufsen, you would spend more time at the range rover dealers than the B&O dealers!
LOL, well, since I wouldn't know what to use it for, it would probaby be okay. I have heard similar stories about Ferrari, though. As it is, I'm perfectly happy

Yup, I am crossing my fingers that this will be " it " for me. I think there's a pretty good chance this time around. Perhaps not at first, butit seems that most of the rest I want is firmware related, so even if it doesn't cross my TTB at first, it might come at later date.

Seriously, if everyone had been positive about the BS5, do you really think B&O would have implemented so many of things (in the soon-to-come Encore) it was criticized for lacking?
I think that this statement is not entirely true. The BeoSound5 Encore has been on the drawing
Go forth and multiply Electrified :) My post wasn't written with you in mind (though it clearly should have been), but I can't think of many times you have popped up in discussions here other than to dissect postings and initiate or propagate arguments.
Oh, great, yet another person trying to claim

I saw one of those in a B&O shop in Birkerød. There really isn't anything nice about it design wise. I was appalled by the sheer size of it and those, well, less than stringent rounded corners. I didn't know it was really a sub-contractor product, but that sure explains a lot of the design. How it integrates, I don't know. I didn't

Actually, I'd prefer a Range Rover TDV8 Vogue if I wanted a statement car :D I don't know what I'd use it for, though. It's a b!tch to park in the inner city.
