Wow, interesting research! We have a BT 1200 and had never looked into this.
N. Radio. there are over 8000 stations
Pray tell: did you get a list of 8000 stations somewhere and uploaded it into BS5 or BM5? Or does BS5 come with 8000 stations pre-loaded? I ask becase I just downloaded Beoplayer 5.00 and it comes with all of 20 N.RADIO stations! I know I can get lists elsewhere, but
Doesn't it wake up with only the N.RADIO or N.MUSIC commands? That should be ideal.
Ahh, great question!
The Lutron Grafik Eye is a very good product and provided you buy the B&O version it will also work with the Beo4. They are certainly a good purchase, not cheap, but well made and have facilities well beyond most people's needs
I have a 6-zone Grafik Eye for B&O in satin nickel and black installed

The Apartment 1996 - L'Appartement - Vincent Cassel, Monica Bellucci, Romane Bohringer At the chronological start of the story, the main character works at a store that sells B&O in Paris. On display in the store you can see a Beosystem 2500, Beolab 5000, and others.

I just ran a test, with positive results: - Select one N.RADIO radio station for 35 minutes via Beo4 from linked room with BS 2000. - Station was http://stream.npr.org:8000/ - System thereafter switched back and forth to other stations for one hour via Beo4 from linked room with BS2000. - Mac Mini, 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (1 yrs old), OS X 10.5.6
this leads to another question on the Beosound 5: Will it be usable if the HDD fails? I mean: Does the controller work or is the Firmware etc. installed on the harddrive? If yes this would be a very dumb construction ... ;-)
Ahh... that's the crux of the question, isn't it? From trolling this forum for over

Yes, someone recently wrote about being quoted about £750 for replacing the ruined disk on a BS3200. Someone else complained sbout HDD noise on their BS3200. Things to think about.

So I spoke with a better informed person at the B&O dealer. He called me back to advise me that the factory would charge $200 for a new handset . Interesting, as a whole new BeoCom 1401 is a mere $100. And the handset in the 1401 contains the entire telephone . Boy I still hate the idea of throwing B&O stuff away but it is looking likely at
